Glassfibre Concrete

Glassfibre-concrete is micro-concrete reinforced with glassfibres. The concrete is entirely mineral and consists of sand, cement, water and fine additional material.

The glassfibres are alkali-resistent and pre-eminently suitable to be used in cement-bounded products. The fibres are added to the concrete in different forms such as chopped fibres, continious rovings or tissue.

The vast experience and knowhow which our company has built up makes us a reliable partner for the authorities as well as companies.

It is not uncommon that Fydro is involved in the creation of new products and new applications of glassfibre-concrete. With all due respect we can say that because of most up to date machinery and various production techniques  we have grown to become European market-leader.

Organisation

Fydro is with appr. 25 employees a company of modest size. Nevertheless we have all the disciplines from production to sales at our disposal.

All products are developed within the company or in co-operation with the customers. Also the machinery for the production of glassfibre-concrete products is developed and constructed by Fydro. Our mould-building department produces the moulds to be able to manufacture unique design-products to the specifications of architects, for instance.

The excessive specialisation in the field of textile reinforced concrete has contributed to the fact that by now Fydro is an important player in the international market.  We export our products to a.o. Germany, Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, United Stated of America, China and Mexico.

Sponsoring

For us sponsoring is an important issue. And from a top-class company you can expect that we identify ourselves with top-class sport. As major supplier of the  hydraulic engineering industry it is obvious that Fydro sponsors water sport. 

Already for some years now we are main-sponsor of the water polo club Polar Bears in Ede. The internationally very succesful women's team wears exclusively the Fydro logo,  and we are quite proud of that!

But also on a smaller scale we give support to clubs on occasional basis. In 2005 the youth yacht club in Nunspeet was sponsored with new sheetpiling along the grounds of her new club-location at the Veluwe lake.

Socially Justified Enterprising

When it comes to social responsibility Fydro is happy to make a positive contribution. Through the membership of the foundation "Vrienden van De Gelderse Vallei" we support the hospital in Ede.

But also the environment has our attention.  Our products are manufactured with a low consumption of energy and raw materials. The final products are durable and are often used as an alternative for environmentally unfriendly materials.

Fydro disposes of the FSC-quality mark. The wood, e.g. the piles which we supply with our sheetpiling originates from FSC-controlled woods.

We work together with educational institutes enabling students to gain the necessary work experience in our company. Recently graduates have implemented a care control-system for working-conditions in our company.
